As the 2025/2026 harvest season approaches its conclusion, the TSG-250 boiler supplied by Triniton Industrial Engineering to Grupo Pantaleon's El Mante unit, located in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico, has confirmed in commercial operation the high performance standards established during the engineering phase.
Performance tests conducted by Grupo Pantaleon demonstrate outstanding energy efficiency and environmental performance, with operating indicators that significantly exceed the original design specifications.
Designed to generate 250,000 kg/h of steam at 103 bar(g) and 540°C, using sugarcane bagasse as fuel, the TSG-250 incorporates advanced technologies developed to maximize biomass energy utilization while ensuring high operational reliability. The results achieved throughout the harvest season validate Triniton's engineering principles and demonstrate the unit's exceptional performance under actual operating conditions.
Among the most significant achievements is the unburned carbon content below 1%. This performance substantially exceeds the original design target, which specified values of up to 1.5% for the combustion system. In biomass-fired power generation systems, low unburned carbon levels translate directly into improved fuel utilization, reduced energy losses, and higher overall plant efficiency.
This performance was achieved through Triniton's proprietary combustion solution, which combines two grate technologies with individually controlled primary and secondary air distribution. This configuration ensures uniform fuel distribution throughout the furnace, excellent combustion stability, and maximum energy recovery from sugarcane bagasse across the boiler's entire operating range.
The environmental performance also significantly surpassed the original project expectations. The installation was designed to operate with particulate emissions below 50 mg/Nm³. However, performance tests conducted by Grupo Pantaleon recorded stack emissions below 10 mg/Nm³, achieving results five times better than the original design specification.
These environmental results further demonstrate the high efficiency of the flue gas treatment system supplied by Triniton. Particulate emissions below 10 mg/Nm³ confirm the outstanding performance of the Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP), combined with the excellent combustion efficiency and the effectiveness of the environmental control solutions implemented for the facility, ensuring full compliance with the most stringent emission standards applicable to the sugar and bioenergy industry.
