Pantaleon’s Triniton TSG-250 Boiler Confirms Its Performance and Sets a New Standard for Energy Efficiency in Mexico

Pantaleon’s Triniton TSG-250 Boiler Confirms Its Performance and Sets a New Standard for Energy Efficiency in Mexico

As the 2025/2026 harvest season approaches its final stage, the TSG-250 boiler supplied by Triniton Engenharia Industrial to Grupo Pantaleon’s El Mante facility, located in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico, continues to confirm in actual operation the high performance standards established during the project design phase. Tests conducted by Grupo Pantaleon itself have demonstrated outstanding results in energy efficiency and environmental control, with performance indicators significantly exceeding the parameters originally specified for the installation.

Designed to generate 250,000 kg/h of steam at 103 bar(g) and a temperature of 540°C, using sugarcane bagasse as fuel, the TSG-250 incorporates technologies developed to maximize the energy recovery from biomass while ensuring high operational reliability. The results achieved throughout the harvest season validate the engineering assumptions adopted by Triniton and demonstrate the unit’s high performance under actual operating conditions.

One of the key highlights observed during the tests was an unburned fuel content below 1%. This result significantly exceeds the original design requirement, which established levels of up to 1.5% for the combustion system. In biomass-fired power generation systems, low levels of unburned material indicate improved fuel utilization, reduced energy losses and increased overall plant efficiency.

This performance was achieved through the combustion solution developed by Triniton, combining two types of grates with individually adjustable primary and secondary air distribution systems. This configuration ensures homogeneous fuel distribution throughout the furnace, high combustion stability and excellent energy recovery from sugarcane bagasse across the boiler’s entire operating range.

The environmental results also significantly exceeded the original design expectations. The installation was designed to operate with particulate matter emissions below 50 mg/Nm³. However, tests conducted by Grupo Pantaleon recorded stack emissions below 10 mg/Nm³, representing performance five times better than the originally specified parameter.

These environmental results further demonstrate the high efficiency of the flue gas treatment system supplied by Triniton. Particulate matter emissions below 10 mg/Nm³ confirm the outstanding performance of the Electrostatic Precipitator, combined with the excellent combustion performance and the effectiveness of the solutions implemented for environmental control, ensuring broad compliance with the most stringent emission standards applicable to the sugar and bioenergy industry.

“The tests conducted by the Grupo Pantaleon team confirmed extremely positive results for the TSG-250. We recorded unburned fuel levels below 1% and particulate matter emissions below 10 mg/Nm³, figures that significantly exceed the parameters originally established during the project design phase. These results demonstrate the high efficiency of the combustion system, the excellent performance of the electrostatic precipitator and the robustness of the solution developed by Triniton to meet the operational requirements of our facility.”

The results obtained throughout the harvest season demonstrate the high efficiency of the combustion process, excellent air distribution and furnace stability, low energy losses and the high efficiency of the emission control system. They also confirm the robustness of the engineering solutions developed to address the operational challenges of one of the most modern sugar and bioenergy plants in Latin America.

All engineering activities, equipment manufacturing, supply management and technological development of the TSG-250 were carried out entirely in Brazil by Triniton Engenharia Industrial. The project reinforces the capabilities of Brazilian engineering to develop and export high-performance technology for large-scale international operations, delivering results that exceed the expectations established during the design phase.

With the harvest season expected to conclude in the coming months, Grupo Pantaleon has demonstrated full satisfaction with the results achieved by the new boiler. The combination of unburned fuel levels below 1%, emissions below 10 mg/Nm³ and a high operating margin within the environmental control system establishes the TSG-250 as a benchmark in biomass-based energy generation and highlights the success of the partnership between Grupo Pantaleon and Triniton Engenharia Industrial.

Beyond simply meeting the project targets, the TSG-250 demonstrates under actual operating conditions that 100% Brazilian technology, engineering and manufacturing can establish new standards for energy efficiency, environmental performance and operational reliability within the international sugar and bioenergy industry.
